AAB College: Jean Monnet Project "EU Impact in Kosovo"
The Erasmus+ project has greatly benefited AAB College by introducing the first higher education module in Kosovo focused on the EU’s role in peace building, reconciliation, and democratization. This initiative has enriched our curriculum, providing students and staff with deeper insights into European integration and its positive effects on post-conflict societies like Kosovo. Faculty members have enhanced their expertise in EU studies, while students have gained access to specialized knowledge and research opportunities, broadening their academic and professional horizons.
Erasmus+ has significantly strengthened EU knowledge among students in Kosovo by offering them a structured and comprehensive module that focuses on the EU’s influence in post-conflict recovery and democratization. The module provides students from various academic backgrounds—such as Law, Public Administration, Social Sciences, and more—the opportunity to explore the role of the EU in peace building, social dialogue, and economic reconstruction. Through research projects and public lectures involving EU experts, students have gained a deeper understanding of EU policies and their real-world applications.
The main impact of participation in the Erasmus+ program has been the creation of a platform for students and staff to engage directly with EU-related topics, fostering a greater understanding of how the EU has supported peace, reconciliation, and democratic processes in Kosovo. The program has also enhanced intercultural dialogue and collaboration by involving students in research and dissemination activities, further contributing to their critical thinking and civic engagement.
The Erasmus+ project has contributed to improving EU knowledge through specialized lectures, public discussions, and research on the EU's role in Kosovo's post-conflict development. Moreover, students involved in the research component of the project have further developed their digital competencies by conducting desk research, analyzing policy documents, and using digital tools to gather and interpret data. These activities have strengthened their ability to work with digital platforms and improve their research-related technical skills, contributing to their overall digital literacy.
One notable success story is the implementation of sensitization sessions organized by students. These sessions have been highly effective in raising awareness among high school graduates about the EU's importance in Kosovo and increasing their interest in pursuing EU studies. Another success is the publication of research findings on the EU’s role in peacebuilding and community cohesion in Kosovo. These initiatives have enhanced both the academic and social impact of AAB College, positioning it as a leading institution in promoting EU-related education and fostering reconciliation through education.
